  • Glycol jacket volumes

Im having trouble trying to find the data on our tanks with regard to the volume of glycol in the jackets. Theyre standard 60degree ccvs but the spec sheet doesn’t list it and the factory hasn’t responded.

I thought i was told 11 liters, but i feel like that was for the little 5bbl guys. Im trying to get a total for our 15 and 30 bbl tanks.

Does that sound right? Anybody got a typical/ballpark number for 15s and 30s? The 15s are cone+one jacket, the 30s have two upper jackets if that matters.

Just a guess but, I'd imagine its so he can calculate how much glycol will be needed to fill the system.

        Exactly.

Turns out ours are 28l and 49l for 15 and 30bbl.

        Thanks @TiminOz

And if anybody in SF bay area is seeing this- we need about 25gals of glycol to load our system. Looking to buy/borrow if anyone has spare glycol. Or split a barrel if you’re buying too.

Well aware you want a reserve on hand but the people’s communist republic of San Francisco is now taxing us on chems we keep on hand as “hazards”- despite the glycol being food grade, the co2 being no different than what we all exhale constantly, etc etc. We’ll stock up once the inspectors leave.

Ahh- I usually buy in 55gl amounts so there's always some extra.

sure. but like I said, the socialists running San Francisco are now stating that glycol is part of a hazmat registry we need to be on. so if I don't have any laying around, I don't have to register/pay for it.

I ended up buying a drum from Keller-Heartt . food grade nsf with inhibitors for about 800 something. it was only 200 more than buying 25gals in 5 gal buckets. kinda ridiculous. but we've all been there.

so if anyone in SF or Bay Area needs a small amount of glycol, let us know! happy to lessen the amount we have on hand here.
