Job Description:
• Facilitate and manage data of daily beer sensory panel.
• Measure and record daily fermentation statistics.
• Run analysis on beer - VDK, extract, Colour, alcohol, oxidative, ph, physical stability, yeast counts and viability.
• Complete daily microbiological sampling program- testing wort, beer in process, and packaged beer using aseptic technique (bacteria and yeast).
• Assist packaging staff by checking packaged Oxygen and Co2.
• Can seam analysis
• Complete weekly laboratory preparation- pour agar plates, measure instrument calibration, and prep reagents.
• Maintain CIP system
• Maintain a clean and organized lab.
• Develop and maintain CFIA, FMSA, HACCP, SOP’s and maintenance records with production staff
• Provide support to production staff as required
• Product development strategies
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• A solid understanding of Chemistry and Microbiology in the context of a beverage manufacturer, degree strongly preferred.
• Ability to work in a team as well as independently.
• Experience working with spectrophotometer, aseptic technique, plating, hemocytometer, microscope and Microsoft office.
• Flexibility in scheduling, position will require flexibility in hours.
• Eligible to work in Canada.
• Time Management, ability to follow instructions and multitask while maintaining focus.
• Problem solving skills, strong organizational skills and ability to lift 25kgs.
• Ability to collaborate and work with a team
