missed ends

We switched to cans about 6 months ago and have a dual-lane, inline filler. We operate at about 60 cans per minute. We consistently get 1% loss due to the can not picking up an end as it travels by the lid chute. We have tried several adjustments to the chute. Sometimes the can just misses an end, sometimes and end falls down the chute backwards and jams and 4-8 cans go by before we can shut the machine down to clear the jam.

What do others see for loss due to missed ends with inline can fillers?
