  • Liberty Cap Brewing is opening new territory- Sales/Delivery for Kansas City MO

    Liberty Cap Brewing Co was established in 2016. Beer sales began with draft in August 2018 and cans in December 2018. We have a 10-barrel brewhouse and 5 head canning line. Our hometown is St Joseph Mo with a population of 80,000. We are 50 minutes from the center of the KC metro area with a population of about 2 million. We self-distribute to the St Joseph/Kansas City, MO home market.

    This position will be based out of St Joseph MO. The right candidate will be able to aggressively add new accounts in the Kansas City Metro area along with delivering our products to the Missouri side. We have opened up only a small portion of this market in 2019 with most of it being an uncalled-on territory.

    PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain and build on existing relationships with current accounts
    • Identify and engage with potential new account partners to build portfolio
    • Communicate with brewer on beer availability and beer release schedule
    • Maintain sales contact list
    • Prepare sales sheet and send out weekly sales email
    • Properly prepare, track, and use beer samples to educate accounts on our available products
    • Track status of empties and tap handles at each account
    • Deliver beer including kegs and cans in a timely manner with beer description and invoice, and get invoice signed
    • Communicate with operations manager on account status (accounts receivable)
    • Responsible for the safe operation of the delivery (and empty keg pickup) vehicle
    • During delivery, if account is overdue, collect payment before drop-off
    • Follow up at accounts to ensure our beers are properly labeled, represented, stored and served to our standards
    • Communicate with brewer and operations manager on the effectiveness of beers and beer sales to help improve overall success of future sales
    • Execute overall sales strategy and achieve sales goals
    • REQUIREMENTS:
    • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
    • Must have a personal vehicle that is in good working condition
    • Valid Missouri Class E Driver’s License with a clean driving record
    • Able to reach, bend, stoop, lift 55 lbs. to knee height, and manage transport of 165 lbs. kegs
    • Ability to safely operate a hand-truck and maneuver heavy items (up to 165 lbs.) safely


    PREFERRED SKILLS:

    • A love of craft beer and true understanding of the importance small independent breweries make to our communities.
    • 1-2+ years’ experience in beer sales or similar sales roles
    • Strong communication skills: verbal, listening and written
    • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities
    • Capable of seeking out new ideas, exhibit initiative and be proactive
    • Proficiency with Excel, Facebook, email and other social media services
    • Mobile phone literate, especially texting and maps/directions
    • Live or willing to relocate to the Kansas City/St Joseph area



    COMPENSATION:
    Competitive Base + Commission Plan
