    Cellar Manager/Safety Coordinator-Upslope Brewing Company Boulder, CO

    Job Responsibilities:
    Maintaining a safe work area and adhering to all safety protocols at Upslope Brewing
    Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
    Proper and thorough documentation of all tasks performed
    Collaborating with Head Brewer and Director of Brewing Operations regarding future schedule optimization
    Communicating with QA/QC manager regarding sensory evaluation, fermentation data, and yeast management
    Covering cellar and brewhouse duties when a Brewer is absent.
    Management of cellar management software control and stage progression on a daily basis
    Covering daily fermentation sampling/recording when QA/QC Manager is absent
    Scheduling and documentation of breakdown/maintenance of filtration equipment and fermentation vessels
    Analysis of existing fermentation data to maximize beer quality and efficiency
    Researching new processes and products to optimize beer quality and efficiency
    Participation in weekly brewing meetings and monthly company meetings
    Ordering and visual inventory of bulk chemicals, cellar process aids and filtration materials
    Coordinate with Maintenance Department regarding maintenance projects and preventative maintenance task
    Oversee and lead training on all new Brewing Department hires
    Investigation of all injuries, accident and close call incidents
    Communicate with HR regarding workers compensation claims and follow through with any on-site needs regarding workers compensation events
    Adhering to the 5S standards of Upslope Brewing Co.
    PCR testing and validation when QA/QC Manager is absent

    Job Responsibilities as Safety Coordinator

    Serve as point of contact for OSHA inspection
    Monthly safety inspection, 5S score, and first aid/PPE inventory replenishment
    Along with HR Coordinator and dir of brewing operation, lead monthly safety meeting
    Meet with HR Coordinator and dir of brewing operations on an established basis to collaborate on safety goals and action tasks
    Along with HR Coordinator, create and present a quarterly safety re-cap to be presented to Director of Brewing Operations and Upslope President
    Conduct periodic hazard assessment for individual job roles
    Develop, implement and sustain compliance with OSHA standards
    Develop, implement and sustain compliance with FSMA standards
    Conduct new employee safety orientation with all new Upslope hires

    Passion for independent, quality craft beer and our industry is a must
    Educational background in brewing or related areas is a plus
    Minimum of 2 years professional brewing experience at a 5k+ bbl/year brewery, 15+ bbl brewhouse
    Forklift and equipment operation experience is highly desired
    Ability to work as a team and collaborate effectively with a diverse group of individuals
    Mechanical aptitude, basic problem solving and math skills
    Sensory evaluation experience, BJCP/Cicerone certifications are preferred
    Flexibility, a positive attitude and a strong work ethic
    Ability to stand on feet for 8+ hours, lift up to 55 lbs.on a consistent basis
    Ability to work M-F morning shifts with the occasional weekend if needed
