Aero Plains Brewing is 20 bbl production brewery in Wichita, KS. We pride ourselves on making well-balanced, approachable beers. We are looking for a motivated, passionate individual to join our team.
We have 9,000 sq ft of production space and a 2,000 sq ft tasting room with 20 taps. We brew 4 flagships available year round, 4 seasonals, and a growing list of limited release. We distribute our beers to over 75% of the state, so maintaining consistency of product and our production schedule is paramount.
Primary duties and responsibilities will include:
- Operation of 20 bbl, 2 vessel brewhouse with maximum attention to detail and accuracy
- Milling, Mashing, Lautering, Boiling, Whirlpooling, Knocking out, Mucking out
- Documentation of brewing activities
- CIP and sanitization of brew vessels
- Tank Management
- Dry-hopping, transferring, carbonation
- Maintaining a safe and clean working environment
- Adhering to established recipes and processes
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years brewing experience in a production scale brewery
- Educational background in brewing or related area is a plus
- Ability to operate forklift
- Mechanical aptitude, basic problem solving and math skills
- Sensory evaluation experience, Cicerone/BJCP certifications are a plus
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch all while in a loud, wet, hot/cold environment.The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and be able to move kegs which weigh close to 165 pounds.
