Ohio Brewing Company is seeking a skilled Head Brewer to oversee operations in both it’s Cuyahoga Falls, OH. 15BBL brewpub (2x15BBL FV 5x30BBL FV/2x 15BBL BBT 2x30BBL BBT) and soon to come Columbus, OH. 30BBL Production Center (4x30 BBL FV 4x60 BBL FV/ 2x 30BBL BBT 2x 60 BBL BBT). With the aid of a Columbus based- Lead Brewer and Cuyahoga falls-based Assistant Brewer, Our head brewer will be charged with all aspects of:
Wort Production on a low-pressure steam powered brewhouse
Cellarmanship (CIP/Transferring beer/Filtration/Packaging beer/Yeast management/QA QC)
Packaging (In kegs/bottles/cans)
Ordering Ingredients and equipment
Canning (ABE LinCan 30)/Bottling (Meheen 6 head bottling line)
Distribution forecasting
Staff Communication/Education
Participation in Beer-related events and programs
Management of Brewing Program
Working with Vendors and Technicians
We are actively brewing beers for consumption and distributors at our Cuyahoga Falls location and anticipate to brew at our Columbus location by the beginning of November.
We expect our Head brewer to have the minimum qualifications:
3-4 years Brewing Experience in production breweries
Experience in recipe development and re-evaluation
2+ years in Management experience
Ability to work independently and with a team (Long-distance and on-site)
Ability to create and enforce new Standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Working in an active restaurant and historic buildings
Understanding and exposure to Hot liquid/hazardous chemicals/dust and airborne particulate
Experience with forklifts/pallet jacks/Scissor lifts and heavy machinery
The ability to stoop/bend/lift more than 60LBs multiple times a day
Experience on bottling and canning lines
