Job Description:
First level management role primarily responsible for all facility, grounds, and equipment operation
and preventative maintenance. Leadership and supervision of all maintenance staff. Provide
leadership and support for future growth and expansion projects. Maintain and execute all functions
according to policy and procedure, safety requirements, and best practice.
Job Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
• Supervise maintenance team, including, interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, scheduling,
evaluating, and terminating.
• Monitor electrical, mechanical, heating and cooling systems, plumbing, gas, air, drain and
wastewater systems.
• Monitor outside of building to maintain local ordinances regarding protection of waterways and
general cleanliness.
• Assist where needed across departments on building maintenance and equipment education for
proper operating, cleaning, and preventive maintenance procedures, including assurance that all
staff are properly trained. All safety hazards to be addressed immediately.
• Coordinate and manage vendors for facility maintenance, equipment repair, and new
installations.
• Continually monitor equipment to ensure proper operation, and work with production team and
vendors as needed. Lead all equipment breakdowns and repairs.
• Develop programs for periodic equipment validation/testing procedures.
• Develop safety programs for maintenance and repairs, including lock-out/tag-out procedures.
• Manage and update SOPs and logs for preventive maintenance schedules.
• Ordering, inventory, and logs for tools and parts/supplies, including cost effective approach with
vendors and shippers.
• Maintain an organized and clean shop that extends to all areas where work is completed.
• Work with management to continually recognize and assess possible plant improvements.
• Available to work offsite as needed.
• Respond to emergency calls during off shift as needed.
Job Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent. A degree in a mechanical/engineering field strongly
preferred.
• 3-5 years of work experience in this field. Experience in food and beverage packaging,
especially craft brewing strongly preferred
• Minimum 2- years experience in a management role.
• Basic welding, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry and machining.
• Understanding of motors, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, belts, hydraulics, cylinders, and
chains, etc.
• Knowledge of AC/DC power, high/low voltage applications, drives, solenoids, RTD/Temperature
control, PLC troubleshooting, and touch panels, etc.
• Understand basic fluid flow applications including pipe fitting, pumps, valves, pressures, flow
rates, steam, compressed gas, and refrigerant distribution, etc.
• Drivers License.
• Ability to Organize high, mid and low priority tasks.
• Able to travel when further education is required.
Physical Requirements:
• Frequent physical movement in a manufacturing environment with moderate to loud noise.
• Work in a variety of outside weather conditions.
• Ability to handle hazardous materials.
• Ability to work on/around potentially dangerous equipment/machinery with moving mechanical
parts.
• Ability to work in tight/cramped work spaces.
• Ability to work in high precarious places including ladders and steps.
• Heavy lifting required (100+ lbs.)
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, etc. for extended periods of
time.
• Ability to operate various power tools.
• Ability to drive to pick up parts and materials.
Hours & Wages:
This position is an exempt position as described by the Fair Labor Standards Act and does not earn
overtime pay. The total wages paid is defined in the salary section of a Job Offer. The weekly hours
of work can vary as an exempt employee, and can be up to 50 hours a week. It is the employee’s
responsibility to clock in and out so that hours worked can be accurately tracked, and important to
bring to a manager’s attention if they feel they are going to exceed 50 hours in a current work week.
If employee takes unpaid time off, or is terminated with a partial work week, then the following formula
will be used to calculate pay: bi-weekly salary divided by 10 multiplied by the number of days worked.
