  • MotoSonora Brewing in Tucson seeks co-driver/head brewer for Cannonball Run!

In 1965, Ford hired a former chicken farmer named Carrol Shelby, to help design a car to beat Ferrari at Le Mans. Henry Ford II had been insulted by Enzo Ferrari the previous year and he wanted serious payback. It worked. By 1966, the Ford GT 40 took 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Ford continued to win 1st place in 1967, 1968 and 1969, cementing Ford’s legacy in endurance racing and really sticking it to Ferrari.
We aren’t looking to stick it to anyone, let alone Ferrari, but we wanted to get your attention and we need some help. We are looking for someone to help us get on the podium with some 24 Hours of Le Mans championship quality beer! Are you that person? Can you brew beer at the highest level? Then keep reading:
Startup Taproom Brewery in Tucson, AZ looking for head brewer. We are ramping up a destination brewery to be open early next year on a half-acre parcel near downtown. We are currently under construction and pilot brewing in San Diego to service existing Arizona accounts.
We just won a silver medal at GABF (2019) for our Gokart Mozart Malt Liquor. We are all Tucson locals with the exception of Tomme Arthur who has final say on all beer-related issues. If you have ever wanted to work with a brewing legend and be part of a cool brand from the early stages, this is your chance! We will be brewing on a brand new 10bbl Premier system being set up as we speak. Head brewer will be responsible for all aspects of beer production and will be expected to coordinate with Tomme on all new beers from cores to seasonals to one-offs. We have a vintage auto/racing/motorcycle theme, so if you are into this stuff, that is a bonus! We expect to be an integral part of the Tucson community with our head brewer as one of the public faces of our company. We expect to have a safe and fun work environment with world-class beers. We are aiming for more GABF medals, and we need our brewer to be at that level. The operators are brothers Jeff DeConcini and Jeremy DeConcini and cousin Eric Thu as well as Tomme Arthur who we have been friends with since college.
Tucson is a hip university town and a fantastic place to live with cheap housing, great weather and a thriving beer scene. There is no shortage of outdoor activities from hiking, rock climbing, road and mountain biking and even a small local ski resort! Tucson was recently named a UNESCO World City of Gastronomy (the first in the US) for culinary tradition and innovation.
We have a great team already and we are looking to add the right person to the mix. If you think that is you, please reach out and take a look at our website at www.motosonora.com and Instagram profile @motosonorabrewing.
Interested candidates, please email your CV to Jeremy@motosonora.com Salary will depend on experience but will include a health benefits allowance and profit sharing.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity. All employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit and business need.
