PHX Beer Co is growing...FAST! We are currently looking for a cellar manager. The Cellar Manager is responsible for the duties involved all beer released to packaging. We take great pride in our beer so the cellaring process is just as important as brewing to us! Ensuring quality must be the Cellar Worker’s primary focus to ensure the quality of our product.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Come in prepared to work. Understand the day's objective by communicating with the other brewery staff if present.
• Proper personal protective equipment is required to be worn during the entire shift.
• Manage the day to day inventory of cooperage, brite cans, finished product, etc.
• Order certain materials when needed. Must have the ability to work with required lead times to ensure all materials needed are ready for packaging runs.
• Clean and sanitize cooperage.
• Be able to address mechanical issues with equipment such as boiler, compressor, canning line, bottling line, etc.
• Prepare packaging equipment for packaging runs.
• Coordinate with the brewing team to packaging when ready.
• Consult with the packaging department to communicate that the beer is at the correct temperature and carbonation level for packaging.
• Pull yeast, if needed, or required during the week and keeping track of clean and dirty yeast kegs.
• Dispose of excess yeast which is not suitable for reuse.
• Additional responsibilities could be required.
