    We are searching for a Quality Assurance Manager to help us produce award-winning craft beer as an integral member of our brewery team.

    This position is located in Juneau, AK.

    Responsibilities will include:
    -Provide direction and decision making in complex problem-solving situations and direct interaction between QA and production staff as required.
    -Oversee and directly supervise the Quality Assurance staff by hiring, training, reporting, scheduling, ensuring quality and enabling systems.
    -Identify process improvement and service opportunities in internal processes. Collaborate with others to implement improvements.
    -Provide regular status reports for process control and drive out action items for beer quality.
    -Provide technical guidance and training in all aspects of beer quality practices and ensures that the best practices are being effectively implemented.
    -Establish key performance indications and associated feedback processes to asses Quality performance against standards and goals.
    -Set quality goals and execute quarterly quality reports to be distributed to leadership upon actualized results.
    -Provide assurance that raw materials are validated and/or standardized.
    -Champion continuous improvement efforts and support process improvement initiatives across all departments.
    -Conduct internal and external communications directly with customers as required.
    -Keep abreast of industry best practices.


    Requirements:
    - Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or related field.
    -Working knowledge of the theory and practice of brewing and applied microbiology.
    -Working knowledge of management of quality and statistical process control techniques.
    -General knowledge of how beer is processed and handled after fermentation.
    -Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
    -Experience with laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
    -Ability to keep clear and accurate records.
    -Ability to work with hazardous materials--acids, caustics, iodine and CO2 gas.
    -Ability to make clear oral and written presentations.
    -Ability to plan and organize complex tasks, communicate effectively with multiple departments and keep clear and accurate records.
    -Strong computer skills.
