Head Brewer Wanted in TX
Soul Fire Brewing Co is a new brewpub, just opened in Oct 2019, located in Roanoke, TX and is searching for a Head Brewer. The desired candidate is someone who is forward thinking and innovative.
Soul Fire is located on N. Oak St in Roanoke, the “unique dining capital of Texas”. We are situated in a building that consists of a food hall (8 different food venues) and our brewery and taproom. We have a brand new 15-bbl, 3 vessel brew house. Our head brewer would also assist us in implementing a small barrel program.
The Head Brewer will be responsible for all aspects of the brewery production. Those duties will include, but not be limited to:
· Management of all brewing and packaging operations
· Source and maintain raw materials and inventory
· Recipe formulation and development, including barrel-aged beers
· Sizing up pilot recipes to full scale
· Production scheduling and record keeping
· Plan and schedule Asst Brewer’s daily activities
· Maintain a safe and clean working environment
· Maintain and enforce a high standard of quality and excellence
Education & Skills
· 5+ years of experience in a commercial craft brewery
· Technical and practical knowledge of all aspects of brewery operations
· Lead Brewing Experience preferred
· Brewing-Specific Education preferred
· Strong mechanical and problem-solving aptitude
· Experience and knowledge with all brewing and ancillary equipment.
· Physical strength, flexibility and stamina required to work in a physically demanding environment. Regularly lift at least 55 pounds.
