    Helltown Brewing is looking to add a Cellar Person/Assistant Brewer to our rapidly growing production facility located in Export, PA. This position is a full-time, salaried, daylight position with benefits including health and dental insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off and weekly beer allowances. The salary is based on experience and the selected candidate will have the opportunity to grow their role with the company over time. The selected candidate will be responsible for all cellaring activity, as well as occasional assistance with quality control, wort production, packaging and off-site events. The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
    • B.S. in Brewing Science, Biology, Chemistry, or other relevant field and 1-3 years of brewing experience preferably in a production setting; or a comparable combination of education and experience
    • Knowledge of beer brewing, yeast propagation, and microbiology QC methods
    • Experience with fermentation and conditioning procedures, CIP methods, DE filtration, and forklift operation
    • Highly self-motivated and enjoy working independently
    • Must be comfortable with heights of 30+ ft
    • Flexibility to work variable hours based on production needs and ability to respond effectively in a growing and dynamic work environment
    • Able to maintain a clean and safe work environment, stand for 8+ hours, lift 55lbs repeatedly, and tolerate hot, cold and wet conditions
    • Eager to learn about and participate in all other aspects of the brewing process including but not limited to wort production, packaging, and warehousing


    Primary duties include:
    • CIP of all fermenters and brite tanks in accordance with brewing schedule
    • Fermentation monitoring and fermenter additions
    • Logging of all data in appropriate software
    • Filtration and transfer of beer
    • Calibration and maintenance of cellar and lab equipment
    • Maintain inventory of cellar materials
    • Sampling and monitoring of active beers and sensory analysis of finished products
    • Yeast purchasing, propagation, and health/vitality monitoring
    • Chemical/biological testing of yeast, water, wort, beer as necessary
    • Other duties as assigned
