You’ll wear a lot of hats as the General Manager at New District. From scheduling and training, to event coordination, to driving sales through creative promotions; you’ll be responsible for helping us achieve our company goals. Our goal is to be the most admired brand in Arlington first, then beyond.
In order to achieve this goal, you’ll be asked to be action oriented, and demonstrate an ability to problem solve in the moment. You’ll need to be fully engaged in the local community to understand our customers and to uncover potential strategic business partnerships. You’ll need to be well organized and communicate frequently with ownership. You’ll need to be relentless and fearless in the pursuit of perfection of our local brand. Create an unparalleled customer experience.
Directly monitor customer experience onsite during business hours
Review all customer feedback and reviews
Handle all escalated customer service issues
Make recommendations, and if approved implement changes to improve experience
Help in creating the “brand” of the building - Develop plan for big white wall
Timely Reporting of sales by day
Monitor supplies, and reorder when needed
Update menus/website/telephone system as needed
Educate on the programs being offered by other breweries
Drive tasting room revenue and performance.
Provide timely feedback on beer sales & popularity
Events coordination
Provide timely feedback on events & improvements
Community outreach - Local condos and apartments, local businesses, ARL economic development, etc
Social Media content management
Group and tour coordination and scheduling
Coordinate festivals sponsored by NDBC
Educated on the programs being offered by other breweries
Increase positive Yelp, Google, Facebook, and other reviews
Create an unparalleled employee experience.
Schedule staff as to the needs of the business
Train staff on customer service procedures
Work with Ops staff on beer descriptions & education of staff
Assess performance, coach, and manage staff
Provide recommendations for hiring, promotion, and termination of employees
Ensure Opening & Close out procedures are executed
Reporting recruiting needs in a timely fashion
Attain feedback from the staff, and recommend changes for improvement of staff experience
Maintain excellence in communication across teams.
Weekly summary to ownership highlighting areas of need and wins from the past week
Coordinate with Graphic artist on beer labels
Coordinate with Ops staff on beer names
Daily coordination across events, operations, finance, and marketing teams.
Position Requirements
5 years Hospitality Management Experience or Retail Management Experience
Alcohol Manager Training https://www.abc.virginia.gov/licenses/training
Open Availability to be on-site and for light travel
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent written communication skills
Marketing Experience preferred
Staffing Experience preferred
BA/BS Preferred
