Head brewer
NORTHWOODS BREWING IS HIRING A HEAD BREWMASTER IS OSSEO, WI. (SOUTH OF EAU CLAIRE,WI 20 MILES) THE BREWERY HAS BEEN IN OPERATIONS SINCE 1997. ORIGINALLY LOCATED IN EAU CLAIRE, WE MOVED 4YEARS AGO TO THIS NEW LOCATION TO INCREASED BREWING AND PRODUCTION. NORTHWOODS IS A BREWPUB (RESTAURANT INCLUDED), SO THE BREWER WILL HAVE TO BE HANDS ON AND WILLING TO TRAIN AND EDUCATED BREWING TO STAFF AND CUSTOMERS.
Duties to include (but not limited to):
• Recipe formulation
• Ingredient sourcing and ordering
• Inventory management
• Packaging
• Production planning/scheduling
• Order planning and fulfillment with distribution partners
• Internal communication and education to company
• Aide in expansions efforts as brewery continues to grow
The ideal candidate will have:
• Strong collaborative nature and a positive, can-do attitude
• 2+ years of commercial brewing experience
• Strong mechanical skills
• Yeast Handling proficiency
• Production planning/scheduling experience
• QA/QC knowledge
• Packaging experience
• Excellent communication and organizational standards
• A strong work ethic
• Appreciation of fine beer
• Enjoyment of interacting with the consumer
• Experience driving skidsteer
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc)
• Be able to comfortably lift 55lbs
• Be able to manipulate / move 170lbs
• Experience brewing between 1,000 – 2,000 barrels / year
