Celestial Beerworks is seeking a Cellar Person/Assistant Brewer to start in December. This position includes assisting in brewing activities, cellar and packaging activities.
Celestial is a 10 BBL brewery and taproom in Dallas, Texas. We have a large focus on science and art, and are slightly obsessed with hops. We brew many styles of beer but our main focus is New England/Hazy IPAs.
We are a small team and often times need all hands on deck. This is a position in which the candidate would expect to participate in all aspects of brewery activities. We are looking for a flexible, hard-working team player with a positive attitude and a desire to learn and grow with Celestial.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform routine cleaning tasks including, but not limited to brewery equipment, floors, drains, grain room, warehouse, and associated spaces
CIP of fermentation vessels, brite tanks, brewhouse vessels and hoses
Keg Cleaning, lots of keg cleaning
Maintain accurate and legible records
Tank dumps and lots of dry hopping
Perform the following brewing tasks: milling, brewing beer, graining out, transferring of beer, and packaging
Monitor beers throughout fermentation (gravity, pH, temperature), which may include occasional weekend shifts and weekend monitoring
Flexible schedule; willing to work long hours during high volume times, including nights and weekends
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment and follow safe working practices
Assist in barrel aging projects
Operate forklift and pallet jack
Operation, cleaning, and maintenance of canning line
Prepare shipments, load, and unload distributor trucks
Assist other brewing personnel as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
Production brewery experience preferred, but will consider 3 plus years of homebrewing experience
Brewing certification, diploma, or degree a plus
Ability to multi-task while working in a safe and efficient manner
Excellent organizational and communication skills
A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team
Ability to lift up to 150 lbs
Canning/packaging experience preferred
Fork-lift certification a plus, but will provide training
Ability to work with little to no supervision
Is proactive and takes initiative to solve problems
Meticulous about sanitation and keeping things clean and organized
Mechanical aptitude a plus
Great attention to detail
Compensation:
This is a full time position. Pay is based on experience but employees can expect the pay to grow with time and experience.
