    Job Title: QA/QC Analyst
    FLSA Status: Exempt
    Reports To: Director of Brewing Operations


    General Summary:
    WeldWerks Brewing is a fast growing, locally owned and operated craft brewery in historic downtown Greeley, Colorado. We execute our unique and original product line with the highest quality ingredients, a state-of-the-art brewing system, and the newest brewing practices. Core to our ethos is delivering a high quality and consistent product, superior customer service, and putting a huge amount of love and trust in our co-workers.

    As a key part of our business, our QA/QC department is responsible for monitoring quality aspects of all stages of the process from raw materials through packaging. Additionally, one of the primary duties is ensuring that all products across all formats are sampled, tested, and determined to be of the utmost quality prior to release. They are also responsible for the continued monitoring of quality for all products from release through depletion of stock.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
    1. Ensure lab cleanliness and safety standards are maintained
    2. Act as the primary brewery contact for all quality communications and activities
    3. Lead production team in execution/implementation of quality initiatives
    4. Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of in-process materials and raw materials, environmental samples, finished goods, stability samples including both physical (i.e. DO, CO2, etc.) and biological (i.e. plating, ATP, PCR, etc.) parameters
    5. Track and manage yeast health, cropping, storage, generations, pitching and performance
    6. Facilitate sensory panel activities and data analysis
    7. Through routine audits, ensure facility quality procedures are being followed
    8. Identify and troubleshoot laboratory equipment problems
    9. Develop and maintain both lab and general facility SOPs pertaining to quality
    10. Monitor testing procedures to ensure that all tests are performed according to established item specifications, standard test methods, and/or protocols
    11. Identify quality related opportunities and assist in identifying solutions
    12. Recommend QA/QC best practices and laboratory capital investments
    13. Continually evaluate and approve upon analytical methods and procedures
    14. Manage all quality related record keeping and compliance documentation
    15. Assist with taproom operations as needed (releases, special considerations)
    16. Attend all required staff meetings and events


    Job Specification:

    Skill and Knowledge:
    Minimum 2 years experience performing above duties in a production brewery
    BS in Microbiology, Chemistry or a related field
    Passion for craft beer and the brewing industry
    Strong verbal and written communication
    Strong work ethic and can do attitude
    Strong understanding of maintenance needs of production equipment

    Personal Competencies:
    Remain calm under pressure or when dealing with unexpected challenges or changes
    Be a strong and trusting team player
    Maintain relationships with coworkers, vendors and other breweries
    Advanced problem solving skills
    Excellent communication skills

    Supervision:
    Uses independent action in setting objectives and deciding how to proceed
    Duties are given in the form of broad goals or areas of responsibility
    Stay busy through slow periods
    Use company applications to communicate and update other employees

    Hours, Travel and Physical Requirements:
    Work weekdays, weekends, early mornings and/or evenings
    Work in a standing position for long periods of time
    Request time off two weeks in advance
    Ability to work in heat, cold and wet
    Ability to work with hazardous materials typical of a brewery lab
