    Job Title: Packaging Operator
    Location: Trans Canada Brewing Co. Winnipeg, MB, Canada
    Reports to: Brewmaster
    Start Date: December 2019
    Hours/Benefits: Full-time (minimum 35 hours per week), weekdays shift work with the ability to work weekends when needed. Full time team members may be eligible for benefits package. Compensation based on previous experience.

    Overview:

    We are seeking a hard-working, upbeat and forward-thinking Packaging Operator to join our Trans Canada Brewing Production/Packaging Team. Located in Winnipeg, MB, Canada, this position will be a versatile role at TCB with a variety of cross training in multiple areas throughout the brewery, including; keg line, bottling line, and can line. This position will be a key component of the team that assures quality filling and packaging of our bottles, cans and kegs. You will take part in the setup, operation, cleaning and maintenance of our packaging lines. Experience with packaging operations and having a mechanical education/background will be considered an asset.

    Duties (include, but not limited to):

    • Clean-in-Place and general cleaning of the bottling, canning and kegging lines
    • Completion of necessary packaging duties based on format (cans, bottles, kegs)
    • On/Off packing of products, assembling packaging materials (boxes, trays)
    • Operation of manual pallet jack to maneuver pallets throughout the production area
    • Operating various pieces of equipment
    • Quality Control work and visual inspection
    • Final packaged product organization and management
    • Changing of labels and assuring proper packaging specs are achieved
    • Operating forklifts and powered pallet jacks to move material as needed
    • Troubleshooting packaging issues
    • General facility cleaning

    Requirements

    1. You should have a strong focus on quality, safety and efficiency, constantly evaluating work practices in the spirit of improvement.
    2. You must be able to lift up to 55 pounds repeatedly and maneuver 175 lb kegs as needed.
    3. Work with chemicals of varying composition safely.
    4. Ability to multi-task and follow directions.
    5. Work independently as well as a team player.
    6. Strong mechanical ability with problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
    7. Ability to work all shifts, additional hours & weekends as necessary.
    8. A desire to learn and grow with the Company
    9. You must be a great communicator, who is able to build rapport and camaraderie with entire production team.
