Job Title: Packaging Assistant Lead
Department: Production/Packaging Team
Location: Trans Canada Brewing Co. Winnipeg, MB Canada
Reports to: Brewmaster
Start Date: December 2019/January 2020
Hours/Benefits: Full-time (minimum 35 hours per week), weekdays shift work with the ability to work weekends when needed. Full time team members may be eligible for benefits package. Compensation: Compensation based on experience.
Overview:
We are seeking a hard-working, self-motivating and forward-thinking Packaging Assistant Lead to join the TCB Production/Packaging Team. This versatile role will include the ability to lead operations of our bottling, canning and kegging lines, as well as the subsidiary equipment involved. He/She will be expected to lead the packaging team in the daily packaging operations while maintaining TCB’s high quality, packaging standards. Attention to detail with a mechanical background is a must with excellent organizational skills
Duties (include, but not limited to):
• Assist Brewmaster with leading the Packaging Team to meet all packaging requirements
• Safely and efficiently lead operation of packaging lines, including; bottling, canning and kegging lines
• Follow daily packaging schedule, as outlined each week, ensuring timelines are achieved
• Clean-in-Place and general cleaning of the bottling, canning and kegging lines
• Ensure quality standards are met, controlled and documented, working closely with the Quality Team to execute successful packaging runs
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and consult with Facilities Maintenance Team as needed
• Inventory management of packaging raw materials and finished goods
• Complete daily packaging records in accordance with the CRA standards
• Build product orders and coordinate with distribution
Requirements
• Minimum 3-5 years of packaging experience in the Brewing Industry or Food Packaging
• Strong focus on quality, safety and efficiency, constantly evaluating work practices in the spirit of improvement.
• Ability to lift up to 55 pounds repeatedly and maneuver 175 lb kegs as needed.
• Ability to multi-task, follow directions, work in a repetitive and labour intensive environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as a team, self-motivator and excellent leadership skills.
• Adaptable to an ever-changing, stressful environment
• Strong mechanical aptitude with problem solving/troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work all shifts, additional hours & weekends as necessary.
• A desire to learn and grow with the Company.
• Excellent communication skills. who is able to build rapport with other team members
