Port City Brewing Company Production Support (Part-Time)
We are looking for the right person to join our growing team to support production. Port City Brewing Company is an award-winning craft brewery in Alexandria, VA. We produced over 16,000 barrels last year, and took top honors as 2015 Small Brewery of the Year at The Great American Beer Festival. We are a busy facility and work hard every day.
The ideal candidate will be familiar with the day-to-day operations of a packaging brewery. The person in the Production Support role may also be responsible for assisting in other aspects of beer packaging including cleaning and filling kegs, routine brewery cleaning and sanitation, and loading / unloading trucks.
Additionally, the ideal candidate for this role may have the potential to transition to a full-time position in the future.
Requirements:

Strong focus on product quality, efficiency, and attention to detail
Respect for peers, co-workers, and managers
On a rotating basis, perform routine bottling line work, such as loading operating supplies into assigned machines, ensuring smooth machine operation and alleviating problem situations
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor, such as housekeeping projects and line set-up
Ability to understand and follow SOP's
Ability to adjust to a changing production schedule
Maintain a high level of cleanliness in all operations
Ability to work in a brewery environment which may be loud, slick, hot and humid
Ability to stand for prolonged periods, stoop, twist, turn, crouch, kneel, climb stairs
Ability to regularly lift/carry products weighing up to 55 pounds (boxes of labels, cases of beer and bags of grain)
Operate in a safe manner, including wearing protective eye / ear wear and gloves
Fork lift certification a plus (not required)
Interest in learning and growing with the company
Interest in craft beer and the brewing process
Previous experience in a production brewery (a plus)
