Oak Mountain Brewing Company is a brewery in planning with a slated opening date of March 2020. We are looking to hire a full-time production brewer to start no later than January 2020.
Job Title: Brewer
Reports to: Head Brewer
Essential Responsibilities:
· Maintain a safe working environment and follow all safety protocols
· Perform all aspects of wort production from malt handling to wort transfer on a 3 vessel 15bbl brewhouse as directed by the head brewer
· Execute all aspects of cellaring with the utmost attention to detail
· Keep meticulous records related to brewing, cellaring, packaging, and yeast handling
· Safely operate forklift, pallet jack, scissor lift, and any other necessary equipment
· Perform lab duties when required
Qualifications:
· Thorough knowledge of brewing, cellaring, and packaging process
· Experience in a production brewery, winery, or distillery
· Passion for brewing and a thorough knowledge of beer styles and trends
· Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends when necessary
· Lab experience is a plus but not required
· Ability to repair and maintain production equipment highly desired
Core Competencies:
· Strong work ethic and positive attitude
· Critical thinking skills including troubleshooting daily problems and finding solutions
· Effective communication skills
· Mechanical aptitude
· Exceptional attention to detail
Requirements:
· Bend, lift, reach and stand for long periods of time (8-10 hours)
· Ability to lift/move heavy objects- (55lbs over the head, 110lbs from floor to waste, and up to 1000lbs by pallet jack)
· Must be 21 or older
