    About Helltown: Since our inception in 2011, Helltown Brewing has been obsessed with brewing great beer. We have two facilities; our main production facility is located just outside of Pittsburgh and our second location is just a bit further south in the foothills of the Appalachians. We have never been concerned with the fad of the week but instead focus on brewing a variety of classic European and American style beers using authentic ingredients and historically proven techniques.

    Helltown Brewing is looking to add a Cellar Person to our growing production facility who will perform a variety of cellaring, warehouse and packaging tasks. This position is a full-time, salaried position with benefits including health and dental insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off and weekly beer allowances. The salary is based on experience and the selected candidate will have the opportunity to grow their role with the company over time.

    We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking, beer lover, interested in learning about all facets of production brewing who is willing to perform a wide range of tasks to support our growing brand. The ideal candidate must be highly self-motivated and will have the following skills and experience:
    • B.S. in Brewing Science, Biology, Chemistry, or other relevant field and 1+ years of brewing experience preferably in a production setting; or a comparable combination of education and experience
    • Eager to learn about and participate in all aspects of brewing operations including but not limited to cellaring, warehousing, packaging, and wort production
    • Experience with fermentation and conditioning procedures, CIP methods, and forklift operation
    • Highly self-motivated and enjoy working independently
    • Knowledge of beer brewing, yeast propagation, and microbiology QC methods
    • Must be comfortable with heights of up to 30 ft
    • Flexibility to work variable hours based on production needs and ability to respond effectively in a growing and dynamic work environment
    • Able to maintain a clean and safe work environment, stand for 8+ hours, lift 55lbs repeatedly, and tolerate hot, cold and wet conditions


    Duties include:
    • CIP and preparation of all fermenters and brite tanks in accordance with brewing schedule
    • Fermentation monitoring, fermenter additions, filtration and transfer of beer
    • Assisting with warehouse organization, loading/unloading trucks, packaging, and raw material preparation
    • Logging of all data in appropriate software
    • Calibration and maintenance of cellar equipment and materials
    • Sampling and monitoring of active beers and sensory analysis of finished products
    • Assisting with special events in taproom and offsite
    • Other duties as assigned
