Honolulu Beerworks Packaging technicians are primarily responsible for the canning & packaging of our finished beer through the safe & efficient operation of the 4 head Meheen/Wild Goose canning line, palletizer, labeler, and printer. Packaging technicians will receive training in the cellar and provide support as needed.
Operation and upkeep of equipment, and maintaining quality control throughout all aspects of the packaging processes will be a focus for this position. Other duties to include: carbonation, checking of carbonation, post-packaging tank CIP, and maintaining accurate, detailed records to keep production running smooth and all beers at optimal quality level.
Packaging Techs work (4) 10.5 hr shifts per week: All shifts - weekday/weekend & day/evening may be required to align with staffing and production needs.
Expanding operations to include 30BBL production brewery in Fall 2020 so opportunity to grow.
Opportunity to cross train as a brewer on our 7bbl brewhouse a possibility as well once solid on canning line.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Complete canning process in a safe and efficient manner
Troubleshoot issues that arise during canning process
Maintain the use of standard operating procedures (SOPs)
Maintain detailed and precise record keeping and quality control reporting
Carbonate & monitor finished beer in bright tanks
Cellar work: including fermenter/bright tank CIP, keg washing and filling
Transferring/filtering of carbonated & non-carbonated beer between tanks
Detailed attention to cleanliness, sanitation & safety
Communicate regularly and efficiently with all HBW staff
Strong ability to multi-task
Arrive to each shift on time with a positive attitude.
Perform others duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
1-3 years in canning/packaging field.
Physical Demands: The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds, and be able to move kegs which weigh close to 165 pounds.
Ability to work in a wet environment with humidity and heat.
Endurance to work a 10-11 hour shift standing.
Forklift certified strongly preferred
