JOB TITLE: Cellarperson/Packaging Lead
LOCATION: Saucy Brew Works, Cleveland, Ohio
REPORTS TO: Head Brewer & Brewmaster
POSITION TYPE: Full Time, Hourly Non-Exempt
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cellarperson/Packaging Lead position is responsible for the following:
• keg racking
• operating the centrifuge
• tank CIP
• coordination of packaging materials for canning days
• transfer line and canning CIP (PS Angelus inline filler)
• operating and maintaining the Markem Imaje can date coder
• operating and maintaining the inline label applicator
• operating and maintaining the lid applicator machine
• verifying CO2 levels with appropriate instrumentation on forced carbonated beers prior to packaging
• verifying CO2 levels with appropriate instrumentation on bottle conditioned beers post packaging
• verifying DO levels with appropriate instrumentation of brite and canned beer
• inventory management on all items relevant to packaging, including cans, lids, bottles, labels, pak techs, kegs, etc.,
• cleaning and maintaining the packaging work area
• clean and sanitize keg cleaning lines prior to and post kegging
• properly mark/identify filled kegs with appropriate collars
• safely operate a forklift to transport pallets and materials between buildings
• maintain an orderly and safe work environment within department as well as entire facility
• participate in regular departmental meetings to review issues and propose solutions
• follow strict SOPs to clean and sanitize BBTs and FVs when tanks are empty
• work as a team player with ability to interact with all levels within the organization and guests\
• safely handle cleaning chemicals
• always utilize PPE
• attend and professionally represent Saucy Brew Works at events as needed, and always when discussing the brand
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
– Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application
– Able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment background check
– Previous brewery experience preferred and or diploma from Siebel, UC Davis etc
– Extreme passion for craft beer and the desire to learn
– Strong work ethic and self-starting attitude
– Good interpersonal skills and team spirit
– The desire to work in a fast-paced, hard-working, growing company
– Love of all things craft beer
– Willingness to regularly work during evenings and weekends
THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL:
•Have the ability to work around alcohol without abusing it
•Possess a team-first attitude and understand the need to be a self-starter
•Have basic mechanical skills and the ability to operate basic machinery and tools
•Maintain organization, discipline, be detail oriented with the ability to multitask
•Excellent time management and organizational skills
•Willingness to assist with tasks outside key responsibilities
•Communicate efficiently with team members
•Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
•Be willing to work until the job is done
•Be willing to work in wet, steamy, cold and hot conditions and/or on ladders
OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
•Ability to work at a fast pace and remain on feet for long periods
•Ability to frequently reach out with hands and arms as well as stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
•Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds employing traditional lifting methods
•Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
