    True Respite is currently hiring a part-time Beertender! The Beertender is responsible for serving customers, keeping the tap room clean, setting up/taking down and pouring at beer festivals as needed, and potentially filling in in other areas of the business on an as needed basis. All of our Beertenders brew with Kenny, our Brew Master, at least once to learn about the brewing process. This is a part time position.

    True Respite Brewing Company (Rockville, MD) is seeking a Part Time Beertender (0-20 hrs/wk.) No experience required!

    We're seeking a passionate beer lover who takes pride in their work space and loves interacting with guests and talking beer.

    Tap room shifts will be assigned on an as-needed basis with variability in hours per week. (Schedules will be sent 2 weeks in advance.) As such, the weekly schedule will vary depending on needs of the tap room with shifts occurring any time between the following hours...

    Tue: 3p - 10p
    Wed: 3p - 10p
    Thu: 3p - 11p
    Fri: 2p - 11p
    Sat: 11a - 11p
    Sun: 11a - 9p

    This position also comes with the occasional opportunity to assist in other areas of the business, including pouring beer festivals, giving tours, and canning line work. Opportunity for expansion of hours (up to full time) may become available as we continue to grow our tap room business. All staff, including part time beertenders, will spend a brew day with our brewer learning about the process, our ingredients, and the products we sell.

    Summary of Basic Duties and Responsibilities
    • Adhere to all relevant safety practices and procedures
    • Maintain a clean and safe work space
    • Request and verify proper identification for alcohol service
    • Be friendly and engaging when serving customers
    • Make appropriate recommendations when requested
    • Educate customers on products and brand when appropriate
    • Clean tap lines and swap kegs as needed
    • Complete opening and closing duties as directed
    • Work as a cohesive and efficient team player

    Qualification Requirements
    • Love beer
    • Love people
    • Be available to work during work hours (schedules will be given 2 weeks in advance)

    Working Conditions
    • Lift one sixth barrel kegs (60 lbs)
    • Share lifting duties of half barrel kegs (165 lbs) with a fellow employee
    • Be able to stand on your feet for extended periods of time
