    polyclar brewbrite use and filtering

    Regarding kettle/whirlpool finings such as polyclar brewbrite, is it ALWAYS necessary to filter the product downstream to remove any lingering PVPP in suspension?
    There's an MBAA paper that mentions "under current U.S. regulations, the use of any silica or PVPP product requires filtration prior to packaging". I'm wondering if anyone has more info on this.
