I haven't seen an answer for this in any thread in which it's mentioned:

Does anyone have experience emptying a barrel or puncheon on a standard rack, while there are still full barrels above?

I have 12 puncheons to empty, and our blends pull from across the 12. It is possible to do this top down but it would be very time consuming, and throws a real wrench into our production schedule. I am curious if we can avoid this.

For reference, the emptied puncheons would be refilled within an hour or two.
