Ninkasi Brewing is hiring a brewer to join our team!

Brewers are responsible for producing the finest Ninkasi beer! This includes the operation and upkeep of brewing equipment and maintaining quality control throughout all aspects of the brewing process.

Hours will vary to align with staffing and production team needs. All shifts will be required as per the regular rotations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Complete brewing process in a safe and efficient manner. This includes, but is not limited to, milling, mashing, and lautering, wort boiling, cooling and transferring to fermenters.
• Maintain the use of standard operating procedures unless otherwise instructed.
• Accurately and consistently preform all standardized practices relating to brewing operations.
• Work autonomously and manage time effectively to complete all brewing responsibilities as scheduled throughout each shift
• Work independently to successfully troubleshoot regularly occurring issues on the brew deck.
• Monitor, pitch and evaluate yeast as needed.
• Work with the Sensory & Quality Team to ensure our product meets our standards of the highest quality.
• Ensure supply of raw materials and other inventory items such as:
o Bulk Malt
o Specialty malts
o Hops
o Brewing Salts and kettle additives
o Safety Equipment
o Chemicals
• Work with others brewers to maintain barrel program.
• Maintain cleanliness of all areas in the brew house.
• Have a basic understanding of Excel, Word, Access and other programs for brewery functions.
• Communicate regularly, efficiently and respectfully with Ninkasi staff.
• Arrive to each shift on time with a positive attitude.
• Perform others duties as assigned.
Desired Minimum Qualifications
• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, with a certificate or other advanced education in the brewing process. A four-year degree in Fermentation Sciences is highly preferred.
• Experience: 2-4 years of brewing experience, specifically in a production environment.
• A love for producing the highest quality product is an absolute must!
