  • What is a fire box?

    Hi all,

Maybe this goes into the stupid stuff category, but I have a burner that was custom built and I am afraid im going to need to modify it, as I keep reading that it won't pass inspection without a "firebox". What exactly is that? Does my burner already have it? If not, would i just need to weld some paneling here or is it something i could buy?

    Thanks!

What is this for? Is that meant to go under a kettle? In my way of thinking a fire box is the heat chamber under a direct fire brew kettle. It is completely enclosed and lined with ceramic rock wool. It also has a exhaust flue coming from the side to take gases out of the building. They are primarily built with stainless steel covered in insulation and wrapped in any out stainless steel sheet.
