Head Brewer
Bosk Brew Works – Woodinville, WA
Bosk Brew Works is a family owned brewery into our second year in the bustling Seattle market. We’re looking for highly motivated individuals who have a passion for craft brewing and a love for both newer West Coast style beers as well as traditional German brews. With a 9,000 sq/ft production space that also houses a sizeable taproom. We are currently distributing throughout King County, and into Snohomish and Pierce Counties. This would be a full-time salaried position with metrics for bonus potential.
Essential Duties
• Overseeing and operating a partially automated 30bbl brewhouse including all maintenance and upkeep.
• Recipe Development.
• Overseeing all cellaring and packaging as well as managing production and packaging schedules.
• Managing a brewing team and assisting in hiring new members of that team.
• Maintain accurate and detailed production records including yield and loss summaries, brewhouse efficiencies and a consistent inventory/cost record.
• Yeast management and propagation.
• Perform quality control procedures to eliminate contamination and DO pickup as well as ensure that all brews are in spec.
• Oversee and ensure that all brewhouse operations are within OSHA regulations.
• Sensory evaluation.
• Have open communications with senior leadership, sales and operations staff.
• Assist in brewery marketing and trade events.
Qualifications and Skills
• Four or more years professional brewing experience.
• Must have excellent communications skills.
• Prior brewing management position preferred.
• Prior experience in all sides of brewing preferred.
• Prior experience on packaging lines preferred.
• Able to delegate tasks effectively.
• Able to problem solve and actively manage stress.
• Experience on a 30 bbl brewery or larger preferred.
• Able to lift 55 lbs repeatedly and 165 lbs occasionally.
• Able to stand 8-12 hours per day.
• General computer and software proficiency.
• Able to safely handle cleaning chemicals and brewing equipment.
• Experience and/or certification operating forklifts and scissor lifts preferred.
• Willingness to help in all aspects of the opening of the brewery.
