    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Mass. Bay Brewing Company, Inc. (MBBC), parent company to Harpoon, UFO, Clown Shoes, Arctic Summer and City Roots, is seeking an Event & Sponsorship Coordinator. This individual will oversee the day-to-day execution of Harpoon Helps (our charitable giving program) and will be involved in an extensive promotional schedule for MBBC brands which includes coordinating sponsorship opportunities from the selection process, implementation, relationship management and internal resource coordination to day-of execution. Participation in marketing activities (e.g. festivals and industry events) beyond specific job responsibilities is required including weekend work and some travel. This position comprises 70% desk work and 30% physical labor.


    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

    These responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

    Harpoon Helps

    -Overseeing day-to-day administration and fulfillment of donation requests for the Boston area; ensuring that MBBC brands are sufficiently promoted on their respective communication channels.
    -Working with the Digital Marketing team to manage content on Harpoon Helps' web page.
    -Collaborating with the Harpoon Helps team to build and promote charitable programming.
    -Working with the Harpoon Helps team to plan and execute Harpoon's marquee fundraising events, specifically:
    ~Harpoon 5-Miler: Runner registration, communication, and digital promotion including web content and communication; working with beneficiaries to increase fundraising and impact
    ~Harpoon Flannel 5k: Runner registration, communication, and digital promotion including web content and communication; working with beneficiaries to increase fundraising and impact
    ~Harpoon Friendsgiving (Boston): Website, ticket sales, communication and promotion
    ~Harpoon Dogtoberfest: Runner/guest registration and communication-digital promotion
    ~Harpoon Helps Spread Holiday Cheer: Coordination of operations for a ~25-site volunteer event
    -Coordinating key charitable partnerships and event activation when appropriate.

    Sponsorships

    -Assisting in fielding sponsorship requests and, upon acceptance, planning and executing level of participation.
    -Communicating with external event directors for MBBC’s involvement, and organizing execution of sponsorships including social media, email communication, staffing if appropriate, equipment preparation and logistics to ensure that all brands are well represented, from promotion of event to day-of execution.
    -Execution of numerous event production tasks including clean-up after events and seeking new opportunities to improve event production.
    -Working with the Sales team to ensure sales opportunities and financial goals surrounding events are met.
    -Collaborating with the Digital Marketing team and local Brewery Representative on planning and execution of external communication regarding sponsorships.
    -Follow-up and evaluation of programs.
    -Safeguarding and managing all event equipment (e.g. banners, tents, cold boxes, etc.) in Boston to ensure Sales/Marketing teams have supplies as needed.

    MBBC Event Execution

    -Harpoon Festivals: Participating in the execution of Harpoon's annual marquee festivals at both the Boston, MA and Windsor, VT breweries.
    -Participating in industry events when appropriate.


    REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

    -Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license.
    -Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Marketing or Business Administration; 1-3 years of experience in promotions or event planning preferred.
    -Attention to detail; ability to multitask in both an office setting and off-site events; innate ability to problem solve on the spot.
    -Self-starter & team player; ability to work independently on projects without much supervision and at the same time work closely with others in a team environment; comfort with hands-on work.
    -Flexibility; ability to adapt to wide-ranging tasks associated with the position, from working in an office environment to being on site at the festival ground; ability to thrive in an environment that requires flexible work hours with concentrated peaks of off-schedule hours during the key event season.

    WORKING CONDITIONS

    -Variable hours that include night and weekend work.
    -Occasional overnight travel.
    -Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, as well as repetitive hand and wrist motion and lifting of products and supplies weighing ~65 lbs.
    -Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment.
    -Indoor and outdoor work all year long.
    -This position comprises 70% desk work and 30% physical labor.
