Summary:
Industrial Arts Brewing Company is looking for a skilled and motivated maintenance technician to support existing operations and future expansion plans. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will perform facilities maintenance projects under the direction of the Operations Manager. The candidate must have solid organizational skills in order to autonomously manage and execute all impromptu and preventative maintenance supporting reliable equipment operations. The Facilities Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the upkeep of both Industrial Arts Brewing Company locations, in Garnerville and Beacon. Overview:
• Use comprehensive understanding of a manufacturing environment to maintain all production and facilities equipment in working order
Familiar with process equipment including but not limited to: centrifugal pumps, motors, heat exchangers, boilers/steam, chillers/glycol, compressors, pneumatic valves, sensors and relays
• Investigate and identify equipment problems and determine corrective actions
• Confidently perform mechanical maintenance tasks such as inspecting, cleaning, and repairing equipment to support normal function and prevent future issues
Prioritize and complete repairs in a timely manner based on the urgency of the project
Solve problems creatively when there is not a clear path forward
• Track and perform all routine preventative maintenance on equipment and supporting utilities
Maintain equipment records of service and repairs
• Communicate and coordinate across multiple departments to complete work without disrupting normal production. This includes:
Sharing equipment
Working in a confined space
Scheduling repairs during downtime
• Assist in capital improvement projects such as the commissioning of new equipment in the brewery, cellar, and warehouse
Support new infrastructure with necessary utilities or physical alterations to the space
• Develop effective contractor relationships and work strategies in order to manage and schedule contractor services
• Identify replacement parts and work with the Operations Manager to build a robust backup parts catalogue
• Maintain safe working practices in all functions
Skills
• Ability to arrange priorities and multitask in order to independently manage time
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work autonomously while respecting an intimate shared space
• Experience and confidence in using specialty hand tools
• Strong mechanical ability and problem solving skills are required
• Strong plumbing background as it relates to process flow, water, steam, and glycol- required
• Basic carpentry and metalworking skills are required
• Welding experience in TIG or sanity is preferred
• Electrical troubleshooting skills, specifically related to equipment controllers, sensors, and wiring is preferred
• Ability to lift in excess of 75lbs, move in confined spaces and up high
Qualifications
• GED or High School equivalent
• 4+ years of maintenance experience in a production or industrial environment
• Ability to communicate via text, email, and phone
• Flexibility with scheduling- willing to work weekends, evenings, or early mornings when requested in order to complete work during downtime
