Full-time Cellar Person at Chapman Crafted Beer in Orange, CA.
Hello, happy brewing. We are looking for a cellar person. 20 bbl brewhouse environment. Production brewery.
Responsibilities are, but not limited to:
• Maintaining brewery cleanliness. In every facet, from the product, to the facility, to the company brand -- an integral part of this position.
• Brew prep. Tank CIPs and water blends.
• Filtration and tank transfers from fermenters to bright beer tanks.
• Packaging: Kegs CIPs, keg filling, keg transfers, can filling operations, and can labelling operations.
• Warehousing and setting up for most daily activities. Forklifting and vehicle transportation, to and from the brewery.
• Setup and breakdown of daily operations. Go through the checklist items to ensure everything is operational or properly shut down.
• Shipping and receiving of raw materials, other tools, and supplies.
• Gravities, other measurements, and various checks necessary to monitor product development.
• Ensuring and maintaining the highest safety standards for all staff.
• Communicating daily with other production employees on scheduled tasks, issues encountered, and priorities.
Required skills:
• Passion for craft beer and basic understanding of beer styles, brewing & fermentation processes and off-flavors.
• Experience with forklift operation and box truck required.
• Mechanical aptitude, competent at maintaining and repairing equipment.
• Basic math skills and ability to keep accurate records.
• Strong attention-to-detail and positive attitude.
• Ability to use initiative and work independently while also being a team player.
• Personable and possess the ability to communicate professionally with all members of staff and customers.
• Class C license and a clean driving record.
• Overtime may be required on occasion; availability to work occasional Saturdays and Sundays for special events.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and sit for extended periods of time; walk; kneel/crouch; smell; taste; lift 55+ pounds repeatedly; maneuver 160+ pounds.
Previous experience in a production environment is desired.
