Reaver Beach Brewing Co. located in beautiful Virginia Beach, VA is the oldest craft brewer in Va. Beach.[/B] We just celebrated our 9th year and are excited about our expansion. We will be opening an additional 5,000 sq. ft. taproom and pilot brewery in Norfolk Va. to complement our Va. Beach location.
We’re seeking to hire a dynamic general manager for our team who will be responsible for all aspects of the overall daily operations of both locations including the taproom, wholesale sales and work closely with our head brewer. An upbeat, positive demeanor, excellent leadership and communication skills, and high-level organization skills, along with financial management experience are crucial for this position. The ideal candidate will have craft brewery experience in a leadership role with a proven track record of delivering superior customer experiences and driving sales and profits.
FUNCTIONS
Financial and payroll reporting, record keeping, accountability, forecasting of sales, costs and profits
Posting and paying bills
Development of and compliance with operational standards, company policies, and Federal, State, and Local laws, licensing, and regulations
Hire, train, motivate, evaluate, schedule and supervise a team of approximately 8 -10 employees
Security procedures, creating a safe working and guest environment
Sanitation practices and all relevant trainings
Managing events, festivals, food trucks, and entertainment
Managing distributor and customer experiences and outreach
Facilitate positive interactions among all staff, customers, vendors, and owner
Think critically, troubleshoot and work unsupervised
Inventory management and ordering
In conjunction with owner, develop comprehensive marketing plan including social media and other formats and monitor results as required
Managing all relevant technology within the brewery
Collaborate with head brewer and maintain high-level knowledge of all beers brewed
and brewery operations for production goals
Develop and execute long & short term sales planning goals
Collaborate on all production activities and create schedules to meet sales forecasts and demands
Monitor and continuously improve operations with regards to efficiency, cost reduction and profitability
Translate the overall business strategy into operational goals and objectives
Coordinate maintenance of indoor and outdoor spaces
Oversee events, entertainment and food trucks Research and implement industry trends and compliance initiatives
Reports to and evaluated by the owner or owners
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Understanding of basic cooperative principles, philosophy, and operations
Provide and follow oral and written instructions
Positively and professionally represent the brewery to the public and at events
Must be punctual, responsible, self-motivated, positive and an excellent communicator
Strong computer skills necessary for record keeping and the point-of-sale system
Understanding of accounting, finance, and payroll
Strong work ethic and desire to succeed
Multi-task and manage time efficiently
Must be over 21 years of age
Appreciation and working understanding of craft beer, along with a desire to continue learning
High standards in quality, positive customer experiences and cleanliness
Cost control management
Motivation to see brewery succeed and grow
Flexibility in schedule and work assignments
Work calmly and effectively under pressure
Familiarity with required Licensing and Labor Laws
Determine applicability of experience and qualifications of job applicants

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or equivalent required
Relevant higher education degree preferred
Experience working in management capacity, preferably within the craft brewing or hospitality industries
Knowledge of budget planning, payroll processing, financial reporting, and QuickBooks
Experience in building and maintaining business relationships
Experience with developing and executing sales and marketing strategies
Knowledge of craft beer brewing, beer service, beer tasting, and beer styles
Willing to wear multiple hats
WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a full-time salaried position, pay commensurate with experience
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
Expected to be on-site, working nights, weekends and holidays if needed
Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Must be able to routinely see, hear, walk, sit, stand, lift, squat, reach, bend, twist, kneel and carry objects weighing up to 55 pounds on occasion
