    Hello to All:

    Hanging Hills Brewing Co in Hartford, CT is looking to hire a new head of brewing operations/head brewer to produce some of the best beer in Connecticut. We make a variety of styles with an emphasis on IPA and IPA variants and our beloved Hills Pils. This is an exciting time for Hanging Hills as we're about undertake a brand relaunch, start up the downtown Hartford Beer Garden season AND open a satellite tasting room later in 2020. 2020 is going to be huge for us and any candidate who comes aboard.

    We're looking to hire the best fit, not necessarily the best resume so if you think you have what it takes to run your own shop, we might have the gig for you.     Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

    Overall Expectations:
    Assume significant leadership and production responsibilities commensurate with a meaningful ownership stake to
    participate in the creation and production of Hanging Hills beers
    Work to grow revenues and profits by producing outstanding beers, maintaining a positive brewery vibe, controlling production costs, and supporting all business functions.

    Production
    ● Demonstrate capabilities producing high quality beers across a variety of styles
    ● Work with director of sales to build complex production schedules to meet demand from tasting room(s) and outside distribution
    ● Manage the production operations financial budgets
    ● Write, deliver and uphold standard operating procedures for the brewery
    ● Ensure clean, sanitary equipment and working environment
    ● Manage raw material inventories
    ● Analyze and report on all brewing operations and efficiencies
    ● Complete, enter, and maintain daily production records in Ekos
    ● Coordinate and manage repairs and maintenance on all brewing equipment
    ● Proactively manage yeast health
    ● Work with Anvil (mobile canner) to optimize best canning schedule based on production calendar

    Leadership
    ● Lead, inspire, and educate employees
    ● Coordinate all aspects of safety
    ● Work with assistant brewer to maintain best guest experience and to create a strong working environment
    ● Ensure proper management of brewing and cellaring schedule, which includes daily decision-making, scheduling, and planning while upholding standards, product quality, and cleanliness
    ● Inspire passionate team culture in support of consistent execution of Hanging Hills' goals

    Desired Qualifications

    Experience
    ● Minimum of 3 years of experience as a professional brewer
    ● Proven success in a leadership role managing 1 or more employees in a brewery setting
    ● Experience with quality assurance and quality control plans
    ● Experience with Ekos Brewery Management System preferred but not required

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    ● A passion for beer!
    ● Process and results driven leader with demonstrated success managing and achieving
    operational and financial goals
    ● Ability to monitor performance and propose necessary modifications
    ● Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented with process-oriented thinking
    ● A self-motivated approach, with strong work ethic, requiring limited oversight
    ● Impeccable leadership and communication skills to a variety of audiences
    ● Ability to lift 65 pounds and move 175 pounds regularly
    ● Ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, work from heights, stoop, kneel,
    and crouch
    ● Ability to work in a loud, wet brewery environment
    ● Mechanically inclined
    ● Formal brewing education preferred but not required
