ASSISTANT BREWER - small scale Production Brewery - Madison, WI
Delta Beer Lab builds community through quality, local craft beer without barriers to gender, race, or sexual orientation. Delta Beer Lab's founder has 11 years of professional brewing experience, and works alongside our Shepherd of Yeast (head brewer) with 6 years of professional domestic & international brewing experience. In our first 10 months, we produced 360 bbls primarily sold through our taproom, with rapidly growing self-distribution volume. The 2020 goal is over 1,000 bbls...this is where you come in!
JOB SCOPE
This position will be a developmental role. We expect the right person for the job to be able to grow with the company, taking advantage of many potential opportunities. This is a full-time (35-40 hours) hourly position, with accrued vacation time and health expense stipend.
Initial functions include:
Keg washing, filling, and warehousing
Raw materials handling
Canning
Keg delivery throughout the Madison area
Cleaning and sanitizing functions
Draft line maintenance
Assisting with the taproom and events as needed
The position will develop into: wort production and cellaring, with responsibilities and compensation increasing accordingly.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Strong work ethic.
Bachelor's degree is preferred but not required; desire to learn brewing science and procedure is a must!
Organized, detail-oriented, and process-focused! This is a production brewery position.
Ability to communicate with staff, guests, and groups...everyone on our team is a part of the community
Computer skills (Google sheets, docs, etc)
Safely drive our delivery vehicle (CDL not required), clean driving record, and ability to learn to operate our forklift safely
Understand equipment and troubleshooting; things break, so mechanical abilities will be learned and utilized
Lift 175 lbs, stacking, unstacking, and moving along the floor/up stairs/down stairs/in slippery conditions
Must be 21 years old
