Seoul Brewery is looking for a head brewer for our centrally located brewpub in Seoul, South Korea.
In just 2 short years, Seoul Brewery has gained a reputation for creating innovative and full-flavored beers and we are looking for the right person to take us to the next level. You are an experienced and passionate candidate that will become an integral part of our leadership team and growth story.
The Head Brewer is a full-time leadership position that will report directly to the CEO. You will be responsible for leading all aspects of our production, including the oversight of the production of wort, cellar work, beer finishing, and packaging, as well as acting as a key contributor to the brewery’s new beer, product development process, and expansion goals.
Production
-Lead a small team in producing the highest quality beer in a safe and efficient manner
-Write, update, deliver, and uphold standard operating procedures
-Manage sanitation of the facility and ensure clean, sanitary equipment and working environment
-Manage raw material inventories
-Creating new and unique processes and beer recipes
Leadership
-Lead, inspire, and educate employees to achieve their defined goals and results
-Engage with customers and employees to convey our passion and philosophy
-Inspire passionate team culture in support of consistent execution of our goals
Experience
-Minimum of 2 years of experience as a professional brewer
-Proven success in a leadership role in a brewery setting
-Extensive experience and understanding of preventive maintenance, team motivation and management, ordering and inventory management, record keeping and data analysis.
-Extensive experience and understanding of the brewing process, sanitation, yeast health and fermentation and beer transfer and clarification.
-Experience with brewery quality assurance and quality control plans.
-Formal brewing education preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
-Formal brewing education preferred
-Advanced computer proficiency including MS Office Suite
-Process and results driven leader with demonstrated success managing and achieving operational and financial goals
-Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented with process-oriented thinking
-A self-motivated approach, with strong work ethic, requiring limited oversight
-Ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach, climb, work from heights, stoop, kneel, and crouch
-Ability to work in a loud, wet, cold, hot, indoor and outdoor environment frequently
