    Ornery Beer Company is looking for an Asst. Brewer / Cellar Person. We are a Brewpub focused company with regional wholesale distribution and packaging. Our Brewpub in Fairfax, Va is full service restaurant with a 3 bbl pilot system onsite. Our central brewery is a 20 bbl system with a tasting room in Bristow, Va. This position will be centered in our Bristow main brewery but also requires flexible scheduling at our Fairfax Brewpub pilot brewery too.

    The Asst. Brewer / Cellar Person will assist our Head Brewer on brew days, perform the primary functions of the cellar requirements, and have the opportunity to lead brews on our pilot system under the Head Brewer.

    The Asst. Brewer / Cellar Person is a part time position with the opportunity to become immediate full time if combined with part time Wholesales Sales and/or Taproom Bartender shifts. We can tailor a full time opportunity around the right candidate. If you are the right fit and are looking for part time Asst Brewer position, we are a great fit. If you are looking for a full time position and both embrace and show commitment &/or experience in either sales or taproom bar work, we can make this full time for you too. As our volume and brewery requirement grows, the part time Asst. Brewer / Cellar Person position has potential to grow into a full time salaried position.

    Job Requirements
    Malt Handling
    Finished Beer Handling – racking, transferring, carbonation, kegging, packaging, etc.
    Beer Fermentation & monitoring
    Dry Hopping & other post brewing operations
    Cleaning: CIP Brewery Equipment, cleaning brewery equipment, cleaning the overall facility.
    Brewery organization & management.
    Draft Line Cleaning
    Attending & actively participating in team meetings & planning
    Participation in events both on and off site.

    General Requirements
    Professional, Homebrewer, or similar beermaking knowledge Required
    General computer skills.
    Reliable Transportation
    Professional personal presentation and brand representation

    Preferred Experience / Knowledge
    Previous brewery experience
    Packaging / Canning knowledge or experience
