    Zony Mash Beer Project is craft brewery located in New Orleans, LA. Zony Mash is a 2000 bbl brewery and 21 tap taproom, event space, and movie theater. Opened to the public in September of 2019, the brewery has quickly grown to be a respected member of the Southern craft brew scene and has already reached wholesale distribution throughout the state of Louisiana, as well as limited distribution in Pennsylvania.

    The Cellar Person/Packaging Manager will work closely with the Head Brewer and Zony Mash team, to ensure all aspects of the brewing process are executed effectively and efficiently consistent with the process and beer production goals. The position will assist the Head Brewer in all operations and includes cellaring, packaging and quality control. Zony Mash Beer Project is comprised of a small staff and being a team player is imperative.
    This is a full-time position.

    Job Responsibilities

    PACKAGING:
    • Oversee maintenance and operation of canning line.
    • Perform line changes, sanitation and quality control.
    • Meet or exceed established production goals in a cost-effective manner.
    • Provide direction for team members assisting with canning.
    • Understand and follow standard operating procedures.
    • Maintain inventory of canning supplies to ensure all supplies are readily available.

    CELLAR PERSON
    • Guarantee a safe & clean working environment by maintaining the facility and equipment in according to OSHA, enforces adherence to safe work practices.
    • Maintain a clean brew house by washing the exterior of the tanks, floors, drains, and sinks regularly to avoid any visual buildup of dust or mold.
    • Organize equipment, materials, and supplies at the end every day.
    • Operate the keg washer and clean kegs.
    • Service and clean the draft equipment weekly by following the line cleaning SOP’s.
    • Ensure the cold room(s) stays organized, and control inventory of backup kegs on tap.
    • Maintain cleanliness and efficiency of grain room.
    • Maintain and track barrel aged program.
    • Monitor and continuously improve cellar and packaging operations with regards to efficiency, cost reduction and profitability.
    • Participate in quality control beginning at the ingredient level, through the brewing process, packaging and all the way until the beer is poured.
    • Ensure ingredients are stored & consumed in the first in first out method and report any inventory inconsistencies to the Director of Brewing Operations.
    • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on equipment and record service details in the Brewery Maintenance Log.
    • Report to the Head Brewer any broken equipment that needs to be serviced or replaced.
    • Prepare distribution orders for wholesale pick-up.
    • Assist in inventory counts and reporting of finished product, raw materials and packaging.
    • Cellaring: CIP tanks, dry hop and fruit beers, take gravity, time, temperature & pH readings, yeast harvesting, transfer finished product to prepare for packaging.
    • Assist in SOP writing and best practices.
    • Record all brewing data onto the supplied brew sheets and record new batches into brewery record system.
    • Receive deliveries of raw materials and packaging inspecting shipment for accuracy and free of defects.
    • Participation in manager meetings and brew schedule planning as needed.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • One year canning line experience, with preference given to those with Wild Goose MC-250 experience.
    • Strong communication skills.
    • Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
    • Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task.
    • Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
    • Ability to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds.
    • Punctuality and regular, reliable attendance is required.
    • Ability to work quickly, problem solve and think on your feet while maintaining poise in a fast-paced environment.
    • Passion for the industry, desire to be part of a team and work hard, high level of self-awareness and long-term view of success.
    • Ability to operate various types of machinery including hand trucks and pallet jacks; forklift experience a plus.
    • Basic computer skills and knowledge. Experience with Excel is a plus.
    • Positive, infectious attitude and sense of humor.
    • Must be at least 21 years old.
    • Must be able to pass background check and drug testing.
    • Must have a valid Louisiana Driver’s License and maintain a minimum of $100,000 in auto liability insurance. (Out of state applicants must be willing to get a Louisiana license within 30 days of hire).
    • Willingness to obtain any necessary permits in regard to food or alcohol production and service.
    • May be required to work weekends and holidays.
