  • How To Maintain Copper Brewhouse

    Hello Everyone,

We finished one 5bbl copper nano brewing equipment for a brewpub and will process commissioning in April. The finish is very beautiful and amazing! But the copper is very hard to maintain to keep beautiful during brewing. So I would like to write a maintenance handbook for copper brewhouse.

Is anyone having experience for copper maintenance and would like to share with us?

    Much appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Ray

      Thanks for your sharing, Starcat

Can you share the process also? And any other material can instead Flitz, as we can't purchase it?

Yeast slurry works really well polishing copper. Pull some un-dry hopped yeast slurry from a tank, dip in a clean rag or nonabrasive scrubbing pad and rub in circles from top to bottom. Let sit for 10-15 minutes and rinse off. You can buy an electric polisher with the cloth you would use for waxing a car, saves a lot of time. I would polish every 4-6 turns.

Yes, I did same process on copper tanks for test. It works really good.
