This position implements NAB’s on premise strategy against a specific list of targeted accounts within a marketplace for the entire NAB portfolio. Charged with increasing the availability and visibility of NAB brands, through obtaining specific objectives within each account, the Sales Representative is expected to grow NAB’s volume, presence and influence in the on-trade. As a brewery field sales representative, the Sales Representative is expected to be the authority on product knowledge, brand positioning and programming in the marketplace. The role will be responsible for bringing the brand strategy to life at the point of connection with the consumer while being open to relocation immediately if needed for the next business opportunity.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY
Visibility in the Trade
Make monthly account development calls on the assigned 100 on-premise accounts in assigned geography.
Secure specific tactical (visibility and availability) objectives to move account base from “non-buying” to “winning” as measured by NAB’s Merchandising Standards.
Visibility---Merchandise account base by securing point of sale placement to maximize brand awareness and product sales (per established merchandising standards).
Availability—Gain new points of product distribution for the NAB’s portfolio in both draft and bottle placement.
Maintain and develop relationships with key staff, management and owners at key on–premise accounts
Work within the assigned promotion budget maximizing promotional activity
Influence at Wholesaler
Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with distributor sales personnel.
Work with wholesaler personnel to drive business targets while enlisting them to work on our behalf when on their own in accounts.
Establish self as the role model and mentor to the wholesaler for on premise standards
Brand Authority and Ambassador
Executing weekly on-premise promotions and periodic special events that generate brand awareness and consumer sampling, as well as new distribution at target accounts.
Execute promotional and special event activity weekly.
Execute periodic special events, festivals, and marketing programs to enhance the image and reputation of the brand in the market place, including, but not limited to:
Corresponding with potential and actual event coordinators
Set-up and breakdown events including all event equipment and display materials.
Attend events as a representative of NAB.
With the guidance of the District Manager develop the optimal approach for assigned area of responsibility, which will normally include:
Aggressively pursue new draft distribution.
Increase velocity (VPO) per outlet
Improve impact and placement of POS
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
· Conduct a set number of Point of Connection Evaluations (POCE) per month
· Perform a set number of promotions per month (includes on-premise bar promotions, beer festivals, special events, samplings, etc.)
· Secure a set number of draft lines and bottle placements for the NAB portfolio within the account base
· Secure placement of a set number of point of sale material within the account base
· Grow account base total NAB volume at a targeted amount
· Conduct a set number of wholesaler meetings/trainings on a monthly basis
Skills/Education/Competencies
Education: Bachelor’s Degree is required
Technical competencies (job related):
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Intermediate PowerPoint working knowledge required
Presentation skills including the ability to conduct creative and informative presentations for both on premise activities as well as wholesalers and retailers
Excellent business analytical skills
Sales management
Knowledge of company, state, federal regulations and franchise laws
Keen knowledge of US beer business and its practices
Action oriented
Trainer, motivator of people
Organizational and administrative skills
Strong interpersonal and negotiating skills
Requirements:
Must be able to relocate immediately based up on the business need and opportunities within the company
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age
Must hold a valid drivers license without any alcohol related offenses
Must be able to drive long distances regularly
Must be able to lift up to 125 lbs regularly
Lifts 35 lb. Cases, 165 lb. kegs and various point-of-sale boxes on a regular basis
Must be able to work outside of regular business hours which will include nights and weekends
