Wildcard Brewing Company located in Redding, CA is looking for an assistant/shift brewer. We will produce between 2,500-3,000bbl this year with expansion plans on the horizon. All beer is produced on a 15bbl system.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the head brewer, this position involves all aspects of working in a brewery including wort production, fermentation, transfers, and yeast management. The right candidate will be safety-minded, efficient, focused on quality, have a great work ethic, a positive attitude and be part of our team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Keg washing and filling.
• Delivery of beer to existing customers based in the Bay Area. Twice a month maximum.
• Dry-hop and fine fermenters.
• Assist in wort production, brewing and transferring beer.
• Packaging and cellaring beer.
• Thorough picking of orders for delivery and wholesaler pickup
• General brewery cleaning.
• Draft line cleaning.
• CIP tanks, cellar equipment and brew house.
• Harvest, pitch and manage yeast.
• Mill grain and stage recipes accurately.
• Maintain workplace safety while upholding quality standards.
• Continually lift, drag, carry and manipulate hoses, parts, pumps and buckets and grain bin.
• Sanitation of all beer contact surfaces and equipment.
• Operating a forklift.
• Conduct accurate stock inventories.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:
• 1+ years brewery experience or equivalent brewery education
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Have a passion for quality craft beer.
• Ability to take direction and follow brewery SOP’s.
• Work in a team environment.
• Possess a mechanical aptitude and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage time while being detail oriented.
• Flexible schedule and be willing to work some weekends if needed.
• Reliable transportation.
Physical requirements:
• The job is physical and the applicant must be able to bend over, kneel, crouch, twist and stand for the duration of a shift.
• Lift 55lbs and maneuver 160lbs repeatedly.
• Handling of hazardous chemicals safely.
• Operation of complex machinery.
• Must be able to work on a ladder at heights.
• Good communication skills.
