Cider Riot! Assistant Cidermaker/Cellarhand
Cider Riot! is a rapidly expanding urban cidery dedicated to the production of flavorful refreshing ciders. We produced 1000 barrels in 2017. We are seeking an experienced cellar person to join our team. Winemaker, brewer, we’re not picky, we can help you become a cidermaker, we’re looking for someone excited to grow with a small company.
Duties will include:
Maintain Accurate and Detailed Records for OLCC and TTB reporting
CIP of equipment, general cleaning of the cidery.
Transfers, adding finings, carbonation and kegging of cider.
Operation of Premier Stainless 2-head semi-automatic keg washer
Manage and monitor fermentation
Operation of manual 4-head bottle filler for 500ml bottles and PET
Assisting with mobile canning operations
Pitching yeast, dry hopping, adding fruit to cider
Moving pallets of full and empty kegs and bottles with a pallet jack and forklift
Operation of an electric forklift and driving company trucks
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to repeatedly lift and carry 50 pounds
Must be able to lift or move 150-pound kegs.
Must be able to stand, and kneel on concrete for entire shift.
Must be able to work in wet conditions
Must be able to work in a somewhat noisy environment.
Must be able to read and follow written instructions and MSDS sheets for chemicals.
Must have a valid Oregon Driver’s License.
Forklift experience a plus
The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and will have at least one year’s experience in a production brewery or winery. Familiarity with pumps and cellar chemicals are essential. We are looking for someone who wants to grow with the company, is self-motivated and works well alone and in small teams.
Compensation DOE $13-15/hr
