    Hello from Austin Eastciders!
    As we grow in our East Austin facility, we are looking to add a driven, self-motivated & personable cellar hand to join our production crew. The ideal candidate will have some experience in canning, production, fermentation or food science. This full-time, hourly-paid position is available immediately.
    This is a great opportunity to get involved in a fast-paced and exciting new company!

    Summary of Position
    Cellar hand will package (bottle, keg & can), pasteurize & assist in fermenting craft apple cider while maintaining a clean and safe facility.


    Skill Requirements
    Must be 21 years of age or older
    Availability to work the same shift 4-5 days a week (M-F, 4pm – midnight )
    Availability to work overtime as needed
    Knowledge of cellaring, cleaning, sanitation and record keeping
    General knowledge of fluid dynamics & pressure
    Basic math skills
    Mechanical ability
    Good working attitude and desire to learn
    Good attention to detail
    Must have transportation to work site (Springdale @ Airport)
    Some experience in canning/production/fermentation/food science
    Basic Laboratory skills

    Physical requirements
    Ability to stand for a full 8-10 hour shift
    Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
    Ability to move and /or lift up to 160 lbs.
    Vision abilities - close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
    Ability to be frequently exposed to wet condition and work in extreme cold
    Frequently exposed to strong and sometimes disagreeable odors and occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals
    Ability to work near moving mechanical parts
    Ability to work in a moderate noise level

    Preferred (but not required) Skills
    Previous vintage winery experience or cellar/brewhouse work
    College degree in related field
    Knowledge of brewery/winery equipment
    Familiarity with pumps/CO2/CIP Procedures/fermentation
    Ability to drive a forklift

    Duties & Responsibilities
    Work within a team environment and consistently produce high quality product
    Be safety conscious and always aware that the cidery is a potentially dangerous workplace. Use all available safety equipment and strive to make improvements in cidery safety
    Perform with honesty, integrity, good attitude, clear communication and exhibit good attendance
    Filter, keg and package products along with washing kegs as needed
    Use proper clean-in-place (CIP) procedures to clean and sanitize cidery equipment
    Prepare all required paperwork, including forms and logs to maintain proper records
    Perform assignments as directed by supervisors
    Ensure that all products are consistently packaged to company standards
    Operate a forklift to move cans, bottles, kegs, and other material as required
    Be available to work on special projects as needed
    Provide advice and suggestions to management as needed
    Attend meetings (and happy hours/special events!) regularly
    and
    Drink Cider!
