Packaging Technician
What This Entails:
Dogfish Head Craft Brewery is seeking a safety oriented, mechanically talented Off-centered Packaging Technician to join our dynamic Packaging Team! You’ll keep the good stuff flowing into bottles, cans, and kegs as you adeptly run, troubleshoot and maintain our packaging equipment. You’ll also be stacking, prepping and coordinating the delivery of our great finished beer to the warehouse for distribution to our beloved customers. You’ll have opportunity to write SOPs and perform preventive maintenance schedules on packaging equipment. Your knack for troubleshooting will come in handy as you assess and basically repair our state-of-the-art equipment. You’ll need to take ownership of all lines in order to recommend process modifications that can improve safety, boost machine efficiency, reduce downtime or even increase changeover speed. You’ll need to bring your CIP best to ensure the packaging line is always ready for action and beer quality is on point. What You Need to Land This Gig:
The qualified candidate will have a minimum high school diploma or the equivalent. A minimum of two years of experience in a production environment is required. Forklift certification is a big plus and becoming Dogfish Head forklift certified is mandatory. You’ll need to have a good understanding of the use of hand & power tools, machine tools and measuring instruments as they’ll be key to your success. You’ll be proficient in performing root cause analysis and problem-solving issues when necessary. Basic computing skills will make life easier for sure. We seek a consummate team player who has great written and verbal communication ability. You’ll need to be passionate about quality, safety, and efficiency, and be someone our packaging team can depend on. You must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver kegs and pallets throughout the course of the entire shift. Must be able to twist/turn, reach over shoulders and stand/walk on a continual basis. This is a rotating shift gig, the ability to work nights and overnights is required. Most shifts happen Monday through Friday and weekend work may be necessary to ensure we’re packaging the good stuff to get in the hands of our beloved fans!
