Russian River Brewing Company, located in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking a full time Lab Technician to join the team!
Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Accurately analyzes in-process and finished products (sample analysis); appropriately escalates out of specification results/trends and initiates/suggests corrective action
Maintains product quality through adherence to good manufacturing practices, product specifications, and quality procedures; completes tasks thoroughly and accurately to ensure compliance with quality standards
Participates in production (brewing & packaging) processes, delivering superior internal customer service; isolates and contains product that does not meet quality standards
Write, update, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the lab
Maintains and operates standard brewing laboratory equipment by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Assists in maintaining lab sample inventory and dispersion of samples.
Records and interprets results to present to Owner, Production Manager and/or Head Brewer
Attends industry events and/or continuing education
Manage yeast and micro-organisms between all facilities
Help with yeast pulls in the cellar when necessary
Yeast propagation
Utilizes and operate all current and future lab equipment to include: micropipettes, microscope or cellometer, PCR, gas chromatograph, Alcolyzer and densitometer or other similar equipment, Carbonation meter, UV/Vis Spectrophotometer, Shaker tables, pH Meter, Laboratory centrifuge, Vortexer, Sterile air hood, Heating block, Cell disrupter, Autoclave, Cleaning agents, sanitizing agents, microbiological media, organic solvents, corrosive acids and bases, and other hazardous laboratory chemicals, including some carcinogens.
Operate dissolved oxygen and total package oxygen meters reading trace oxygen levels
Ability and willingness to maintain flexible work schedules, as weekends are necessary
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, chemistry, or related field is required
Minimum of 2 years in a previous lab tech position, ideally in craft beer
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace
