    Packaging Assistant

    Purpose: Avery Brewing Co. Packaging crew members work to maintain an extremely high standard of quality while bottling, canning, and kegging the best beer in the world.

    Requirements:
    • Ability to lift 50 lbs responsibly and repeatedly for the duration of a shift
    • Ability to work in hot, cold, or wet conditions for extended periods of time
    • Attention to detail is top priority. An ideal candidate will be one who can maintain focus and stay acutely aware of their surroundings at all times.
    • Schedule flexibility: Availability during days, nights and occasional weekends as needed (day shift, swing shift / PM shift)
    • Ability to recognize visual and audible cues signaling machinery performance issues in a fast-paced environment and communicate them immediately.
    • Ability to recognize problems with the quality of the finished beer, mechanical issues, or anything else and notify the Packaging Manager, Assistant Packaging Manager, QA Manager, Engineering Manager, or Production Manager immediately.
    • Previous experience in a manual labor or manufacturing environment



    Responsibilities:
    • Stop the job for safety
    • Work as part of a team to successfully transfer quality finished beer into package (cans, bottles, and kegs)
    • Maintain the bottling line, canning line, and kegging areas in a very clean, organized manner including floors, walls, bathrooms, packaging equipment, and general upkeep of brewery outside of the brewhouse and cellar.
    • 5S responsibilities and direct assignments
    • Maintain on a daily basis the outside areas where pallets, kegs, can stacks, glass bins and garbage cans are stored. Bathroom cleaning is assigned on a rotating schedule.
    • Build case flats and prep any materials needed
    • Daily tastings of beers in process and tasting of packaged beers at home
    • Clean kegs, bottling equipment, canning equipment, and tanks to the absolute highest levels of quality



    Expectations:
    • This is a full-time position with an expected work week of 40 hours.
    • Extreme attention to detail
    • Willing attitude and team mentality
    • Flexibility



    Compensation:
    Includes competitive pay, paid time off, paid company holidays, RTD Eco Pass, beer allowance, health and dental insurance coverage at 50% after 90 days, 401(k) and more. Eligible for additional employer contribution towards health insurance coverage after 18 months of tenure.
