Alpha Brewing Company is seeking to employ a Head Brewer/Lead Brewer at our second location set start operations at the end of September or Early October 2017. Alpha Brewing Company specializes in barrel ages sour ales as well as a host of more traditional styles like IPAs and Pale Ales. We have a currently operation brewery in downtown St. Louis which runs on a 2.5BBL system producing about 200BBL per year which opened in 2013. Our expansion location is installing a 15BBL system with 15BBL fermenters and brite tanks as well as a multitude of barrels and two 30BBL foedres to start with. We anticipate an annual production of 1,000BBLs for 2018.
The ideal candidate would be a self starter with a passion for science and yeast culture, someone who really wants to leave a mark of the beer culture creating new and interesting beers and has the passion for craft beer that will drive our brewery.
Minimums:
1+ Years Brewing
Formal Brewers Education or a Degree applicable Science such as biology or chemistry
Motivated to grow with our company.
Experience Managing Staff
Forklift Operation Certification
Requirements:
Ability to create recipes and follow recipes for mainstay brews
Be able to stack kegs at least two high
Be able to carry a sack of grain repeatedly
Ability to work in a hot environment
A focus on cleanliness, record keeping and organization
Self starter, takes the initiative, goes the extra two steps, finishes the job all the way, plans ahead,
Understands how to work with hands, problem solves, intuitive
Ability to manage and delegate tasks
