Position: Wood Cellar Manager
Reports to: Head Brewer
We are craft brewery located in East Vancouver, British Columbia. We focus on brewing quality beers that are innovative. We are looking for a fun, hard-working individual to join our team.
The Wood Cellar Manager monitors all mixed fermentation and wood aged beers in our 300+ barrel warehouse. These duties include temperature and humidity adjustments, barrel and fruit procurement, yeast and bacteria management, clarification and packaging.
Daily Duties, Functions, Responsibilities
• Complete assigned tasks in accordance with company SOP.
• Follow all safety procedures.
• Keep accurate daily production records per company and Federal Requirements.
• Continually maintain all beer production areas including equipment.
• Inform and assist maintenance technicians with equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Follow daily and weekly cleaning schedules to maintain a clean working environment.
• Attend production meetings and contribute to product improvement.
• Monitor fermentations and ensure they meet set pack targets.
• Clarify and carbonate beers to required parameters.
• Work with the lab technician to ensure all beers pass microbiological checks.
Requirements are as follows:
• Able to legally work in Canada (citizenship or permanent resident).
• Previous cellar experience and familiarity with brewery or winery equipment.
• Brewing, Winemaking, Food Science/Microbiology or similar degree an asset.
• Forklift training/license is a plus.
• Experience with production sour/wild program.
• Motivated and passionate about making high quality beer.
