Hi-Wire Brewing is seeking an experienced cellar-person with a strong background in QC/QA responsibilities. We are a rapidly growing 20,000 bbl per year brewery with two locations in the beer-centric city of Asheville, North Carolina. We operate a 4-vessel 30 bbl brewhouse filling 90 and 60 bbl FVs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Take gravity, temperature, pH, etc on all brews
Count, harvest, and pitch yeast according to SOPs
CIP vessels according to SOPs
Maintain an orderly and clean work environment throughout the brewery
Centrifuging
Carbonate beer to packaging specs
Operate Orbisphere DO meter at all critical steps
Dry Hopping and other flavor additions
Titrations, distillations, and UV-Spec procedures
Plating using sterile technique on several types of media
Propagation of yeasts and bacteria
Requirements
Minimum 2 years of commercial brewing experience with experience at a relevant scale to our operation
Mechanically savvy
Flexible on hours and duties - may be utilized in other departments
Experience and training on laboratory techniques and scientific method
Ability to work well on a team as well as on your own
Ability to lift over 50 lbs
Ability to stay on your feet for up to 10 hrs per day
